Cite Direct Links to Sources

• Cite a direct link to quotes, text, and statistics obtained from the source (i.e., cite a link that goes directly to specific highlighted text on the source website)

Use sources from the last 12-24 months. If there are no other sources, examples have been provided to explain this to the client.

April 2022

Use American English

• In the Importance of Professional Writing section, we've added a note to use American English vocabulary and grammar in your research.

AS/IF Available

• A second-best alternative or pivot is not required when an RC states “as available” or “if available”.
• Provide at least one source to support that information is not available on the data point.

October 2022

Spreadsheets

• Cite the deliverable in a bolded separate line.

Headers

• Headers should correlate as closely as possible with the Research Criteria.

Client Updates

Specifically, state where you looked for information. Be sure to mention and cite which databases, census datasets, expert interviews, surveys, or industry reports were consulted. Do not simply state you looked at an industry database, as this is not helpful and will often appear in a simple search.
