Competitive Landscape FAQs
What is the limit on the number of companies?
Can I chop it up? (e.g. "I know I only want press releases, not anything else")
Yes, there’s a section in the workflow titled, “Only Use Agent Type”. Select the type of targeted agent that you want to run, and only that targeted agent will be executed.
Here’s an example of how you can choose to only run the targeted agent for press releases:
What if I have the company names already?
Within the Competitive Landscape workflow, there are individual agents that you may directly utilize from the AI Playground:
Clarify Competitive Landscape & Identify Companies Workflows
These two workflows, which are also baked into the Competitive Landscape workflow, can be used without launching the full competitive landscape, as well. They are designed to be used together. (Note: We will soon have a combined single workflow in production. Innovation will post in Slack when this is live!)
Clarify Competitive Landscape
This workflow is used to clarify the parameters and requirements for a competitive landscape project based on the client chat. Clarify Competitive Landscape’s job is somewhat similar to some of what RM does during the presearch process: define jargon, clearly explain what to focus on, and boil down the full ask to help the the agent succeed in executing the research! Its output will then be fed into the Identify Companies workflow to find and choose the companies that best suit the client’s requirements.
How it works
The workflow takes in the client chat as input. Based on the chat, the workflow will provide:
If any of the above data points are not clear from the chat, the workflow will use a web research tool to gather more context from the internet.
<aside> 💡 The Clarify Competitive Landscape & Identify Companies Workflows can only identify 5 - 7 competitors at a a time. If more are needed, you may do multiple runs by noting that rOS should exclude [list of companies already identified in previous run(s)]

When using rOS for projects that did not go through Wonderpad (e.g., those sent in by email), there are two options for inputting the client’s ask: Chat Messages or Objectives Override.
