As a managed marketplace, Wonder guarantees the quality of work our analysts produce.
We value our analysts in their ability to produce personalized research briefs for clients. At the same time, we recognize the importance of setting the floor to ensure that we consistently deliver on our promise of high-quality work.
Our minimum quality standards for Research jobs demonstrate what the baseline for quality looks like at Wonder. Our Audit Process acts as a tool to help maintain these standards, identify areas for improvement, and encourage continued on-the-job learning.
Our Audit Philosophy

👉 "First time is chance, second time is coincidence, third time is pattern."

The Audit Process embraces a proactive approach designed to provide the support necessary for analysts to identify low quality standards early on. We aim to create and nurture a community that celebrates feedback as an opportunity to learn and grow.
Phase 1: First Time is Chance
Phase 1 of the Audit Process can be initiated in two ways.
- Weekly sample (every week, Quality Management Support pulls Research jobs that Research Managers needed to revise before sending to the client).
- Client 1-star ratings.
In the first phase, a Research job can either pass or fail an audit.
- Pass - Analyst receives a 3-star or 5-star audit. Congratulations!
- Fail - If an analyst receives a 1-star audit, an email will be sent detailing feedback on potential patterns and areas that the analyst must correct to meet our minimum quality standards. In addition, the analyst will have the opportunity to request a Second Look in response to the audit feedback.
- Second Look: The Second Look provides an open line of communication allowing analysts to share any questions regarding the audit feedback, provide additional details, or share more context to the job. A Second Look can be requested by simply replying to the audit feedback email.
- Note: A Second Look can only be requested for a 1-star audit within 7 days of receiving the audit feedback email.
Phase 2: Second Time is Coincidence-Gut Check for Standards Alignment
Similar to Phase 1, Phase 2 of the Audit Process can be initiated in two ways.
- Weekly sample
- Client 1-star ratings.
In the second audit phase, a Research job can either pass or fail.
-
Pass - Analyst receives a 3-star or 5-star audit. Congratulations!
-
Fail - If the analyst receives a 1-star audit (i.e., a second 1-star audit in a 90-day period), he/she can request a Second Look in response to the audit feedback. If the 1-star is overturned (i.e. changed into a 3-star) in the Second Look, the analyst will stay in audit phase 1. If the 1-star rating is retained in the Second Look, the analyst will be in audit phase 2, and his/her access to claiming jobs will be paused for 24 hours, also known as Paused Permissions. During this 24-hour Paused Permissions period, an Auditor will conduct a Gut Check.
Note: A ****Second Look can only be requested for a 1-star audit within 7 days of receiving the audit feedback email.
- Paused Permissions: Analyst's access to the Wonder platform is paused for 24 hours. Permissions will be reinstated upon confirmation of understanding the Comprehensive Review given by the Auditor.
The Gut Check is then sent to Admin for review. Its outcome is one of the following:
- 3 of 5 Research jobs pass Audit. The Gut Check shows that there are few instances where the analyst is misaligned and that this misalignment can be remedied in a timely manner through analyst investment in education. The analyst’s permissions are reinstated upon verification that the analyst confirms receipt of the Gut Check and educational resources available to support alignment by responding to the email.
- Note: Analysts who receive a Gut Check are encouraged to request a Zoom meeting (scheduled for up to 1 hour) with Quality Management Support to clarify instances of misalignment and/or minimum quality standards.
- 3 of 5 Research jobs fail Audit. The Gut Check shows that there are multiple instances where the analyst is misaligned and that this misalignment cannot be remedied in a timely manner through analyst investment in education. The analyst’s permissions are removed.
- Note: Analysts that are removed will be reviewed quarterly to determine whether or not they qualify to be invited back onto the platform by attending a Wonder Academy class.
